Several types of credit/loans to choose from

HELOC (Home Equity Line of Credit)

If there is sufficient equity in the primary then a Home Equity Loan may be feasible. A HELOC is a second mortgage with a revolving line of credit borrowed against the equity of your home and offers a flexible way to borrow funds. HELOC loans differ from traditional home equity loans in that you can draw money from a HELOC as needed instead of taking out a single lump sum loan.

Conventional Renovation Loans

Conventional Renovation Loans allow you to borrow to fund the construction of your ADU if you qualify. These loans typically have a lower down payment and lower interest rates than a construction loan. These types of loans also consider the future value of your ADU after the project is completed.

Perm Loan (Amortization)

Once the construction phase is complete, the loan converts into a permanent mortgage. The borrower will then begin making monthly payments that include principal, interest, and property taxes.
